At Bourne Primary School, inclusion is at the heart of all that we do. We believe that belonging comes first: every child is known, valued and included, enabling all pupils to thrive, achieve and feel successful within our school community. We hold high expectations for every pupil and recognise diversity as a strength that enriches our school.
Our ethos of Nurture, Innovate, Collaborate and Empathise (N.I.C.E.) underpins our commitment to inclusion, belonging and high aspirations for all. We are proud to create a learning environment where differences are celebrated and every child is supported to reach their full potential.
High-quality teaching and inclusive universal provision form the foundation of our approach to meeting pupils' needs. Through adaptive teaching, carefully planned support, positive relationships and a nurturing environment, we ensure that all children can access learning and participate fully in school life.
Our leaders have developed systems and provision that reflect the needs of our community, including the establishment of the Welcome Hub, which supports the rapid assessment and integration of pupils who join us throughout the academic year. This ensures that children and families feel welcomed, understood and able to access appropriate support from the outset.
Despite the challenges associated with high pupil mobility and significant vulnerability within our community, leaders have secured improvements in outcomes, attendance, inclusion and personal development, while maintaining a strong safeguarding culture. We remain committed to ensuring that every pupil feels a sense of belonging and has the opportunity to flourish academically, socially and emotionally.
