Ofsted
Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. They report directly to Parliament and are independent and impartial. They inspect and regulate services which care for children and young people, and those providing education and skills for learners of all ages. Every week, Ofsted carry out hundreds of inspections and regulatory visits throughout England, and publish the results on their website. In its June 2024 inspection, Ofsted recognised Bourne Primary School as a welcoming and inclusive community where pupils are happy, feel safe and demonstrate the school’s values of nurture, innovation, collaboration and empathy. Inspectors highlighted the significant improvements made since the previous inspection, including transformed behaviour, a calm and orderly learning environment, a strong focus on reading, effective support for pupils with SEND, and a rich programme of arts, cultural and personal development opportunities. Ofsted praised the school’s caring staff, ambitious curriculum and dedicated leadership team, noting the positive impact of ongoing improvements and the strong commitment to ensuring the best outcomes for all pupils.
